30) Kerri Chandler – Atmosphere EP (Shelter) 12″

Possibly one of the finest house records ever to come out of New Jersey got a timely re-press during 2015. This is one of those records that will always sell.

29) Loose Joints – Is It All Over My Face Kon’s Duet Mix (West End) 12″

Touching up a classic is always a difficult task to do and some would say sacrilege. Current edit Jedi Kon had the audacity to edit ‘Is It All Over My Face’ and managed to pull off one of the edits of the year. This has been a constant seller in the shop whenever we can get copies.

28) Gloria Ann Taylor – Love Is A Hurtin’ Thing (Luv N’ Haight) 2xLP

After a disastrous bootleg year last year Gloria Ann Taylor finally received a legal LP release by the respectful Luv N’Haight team. This collection pulls together the numerous great 7″ singles that Gloria released in the early 1970s. The masterpiece ‘Love Is A Hurtin’ Thing’ is featured as a full loud 12″ cut on Side D, which is what we all wanted. This has sold out rather quickly in the shop and we’re looking forward to the re-press being made available.

Dreamy drifting house from Matches with their ‘Burnt EP’ sold well early in 2015, which demonstrates that you can make things work with quality releases.

26) Chez Damier – Edits, Reworks and Sounds (Boots) 12″

There’s an element of controversy with the Chez Boots 12,” but we’ve featured it because it sold very strongly and the quality of the edits, reworks and sounds is very high.

25) EVM128 – Nova (Studio Rockers) 2xLP

One of our highlights of the year has been the in-store from EVM128 which featuring a guest performance from UK soul legend Omar. This debut double album by EVM128 demonstrated that UK producers can mix it up with the best of them.

24) Floating Points – Elaenia (Pluto) LP

We were unsure on first listens but ‘Elaenia’ grew on us with each plays with the subtle layers that each song uses to convey a musical masterpiece. Let’s hope that Sam has a strong 2016 and continues to grow as an artist.

23) Jeb Loy Nichols – Katie Blue (City Country City) 7″

Jeb Loy produced a blued eyed soul monster with ‘Katie Blue’ which was featured during his Record Store Day Love Vinyl love appearance earlier this year.

22) Sam Dees – Gimme Me A Little Action (Kent) 7″

‘Gimme Me A Little Action’ destroyed the shop’s turntable once we got copies in with it’s gorgeous mid tempo shuffle and the warm tender vocal delivery of Sam. This is an amazing piece of music.
